HOSPAC’s mission is to support advocacy efforts for Texas hospitals and the patients they serve. HOSPAC members help build the foundation upon which the advocacy teams of the Texas Hospital Association and its member hospitals work to shape effective health care. 

Advocacy is what THA is all about. When it comes to winning legislative battles, it’s one thing to understand the issues. It’s another to have the relationships that open doors to constructive dialogue. HOSPAC contributions plus THA’s strong ties at both the state and federal levels and its insight into the health care profession, have helped hospitals time and again. Once elected, these candidates can help hospitals by supporting legislative action on important health care issues: Medicare/ Medicaid funding; workforce shortages; trauma care; prompt insurance claim payments; and quality and patient safety. Now more than ever, lawmakers must be educated about health care issues, and understand the full implications of public policy decisions.
